The three main categories listed above are merely a starting point to producing the images that you want to see hanging on your walls. All three start with a session fee, which covers the time for me to come to you, take the photographs and get them prepared for viewing. So I will give you a bit more detail of what the session will look like...
Lifestyle
A lifestyle photoshoot is all about the relationship between humans and their animals. When you make an initial booking we will have a conversation about what your perfect photo would look like. From there we will simply work backwards and discuss locations, clothing, and the style of photography. We will work towards that ideal shot, but explore many alternatives along the way - that's why I typically allow a couple of hours for these photoshoots.
Once we have taken the photographs I will edit them and provide you with a link to view an online gallery. From here you can order any prints or downloads, and I will be available to help you through this part of the process. Alternatively we can arrange an "in person" meeting for any more specific requests.
Portraits - Equine
Initially we need to work out what style of portrait you are after, take look through my portfolio for inspiration. Then we can arrange for me to come and take those portraits. Usually I will come to your yard and pick a suitable location there, but if there is a particular place you have in mind, a favourite wood, or a beach, for example - then I can meet you there. You will see, dotted around this website portraits with a black background. This is done in a very specific way, as I cannot bring a mobile studio large enough to capture a horse! Instead, if you wanted this style, I use an empty stable that fronts into daylight. If your yard uses American style stabling this may not be possible (although we may be able to find a solution).
Portraits - Canine
For portraits of your dog I will come to your house with both my camera and a small pop-up studio. This way we can take portraits both outdoors, if there is a particular location you love to go on walks. Or I can create my signature 'painterly' style of canine portraits in your house (although I do need a fairly empty room in order to get the background and lights set up). Depending on whether you want indoor or outdoor portraits the session will take around 45 minutes. Please have a plentiful supply of treats on hand... for the dog, that is - I should be fine!
Post Shoot
Once I have finished taking the photographs I will edit and re-touch those images, and prepare an online gallery for you to view. As soon as this is done I will send you a link so that you can look through all the images at your leisure. If you already know which photographs you want to have printed, framed or downloaded you can order them straight from the website. However I will also be in contact you to see if you want to arrange a virtual meeting to talk through any specific requests, or just some help choosing the right photographs. If you have been through a Lifestyle shoot I will definitely arrange a meeting with you, either virtual or in person... as with a Lifestyle shoot there will be many more choices to make!
